So you’ve decided to get your eyebrows tattooed. Yaaaasssss!!! No more worrying about wiping your brows away! Time to say goodbye to that brow powder for good! Best decision EVER.
Now…. who do you go to? How do you find the best eyebrow tattooist? Should you rely on reviews or recommendations alone? While great reviews are definitely a sign of happy customers, they are actually not the most important thing to look for when choosing your tattooist…
Look for photos of your tattooist’s RESULTS. And by results I mean healed results. Alot of people don’t realise that most of the eyebrow tattoo photos they see are taken immediately after tattooing and the tattoo hasn’t healed yet. This is especially the case with microblading/feathering photos. When microblading has just been done, the ‘hairstrokes’ look perfect. The crisp lines actually do look like hairs. If you’re not sure what microblading is see here…
But these crisp little lines haven’t actually healed yet. There is a world of difference between freshly tattooed work and the healed result. Healing takes one to two weeks, where the very top layer of skin gradually flakes away to reveal the tattoo underneath. A tattoo can look amazing when it is first done, yet due to ALOT of factors can look completely different after it’s healed. These factors include the immune system, the skin, the tattoo technique, the depth in the skin the tattoo was done, the type of pigment used and how the tattoo was looked after during the healing process.
After healing, your tattoo will look softer as about 30% - 50% of the colour fades. Microblading hairstrokes will look softer and less crisp, powder/ombre brows will look less strong and more like brow powder. It is important to look at these results to see what you prefer the look of.

If you can’t find any healed results from your chosen tattooist then think twice about going ahead! It is THE most important thing to look for when choosing your tattooist. Because that is what you will have on your beautiful face for years to come. Choose wisely!
