Ombre brows are the new thing

Updated: Mar 14, 2021

Move over Ombre hair. It’s time for the OTHER hair on your head to get Ombre’d. Your BROWS.

That’s right, Ombre brows are now a thing. This is not a wacky brow trend like the ponytail brow/squiggle brow/braided brow… (ok so 2017 was officially the weirdest brow year). Ombre brows are a LEGIT trend that originally began a while ago as a makeup look, but are now an official cosmetic tattoo style.

what are ombre brows?

Ombre brows graduate from dark at the tail to light at the front. Taking inspiration from the hair trend of the same name, which fades from dark to light. Ombre brows are great for those that have already awesome brow fronts, back lack definition in the tail. They are a makeup look, but now also a style of eyebrow tattoo.

the ombre brow tattoo

The Ombre brow tattoo can refer to the technique but also to the look. The Ombre technique uses the finest tattoo needle, to tattoo thousands of tiny dots into the brow. After healing, the result is a soft powder finish. It literally looks like you’ve softly powdered your brows in. PERFECTLY.

Gaining in popularity all over the world, the name Ombre is now also used to describe the style of eyebrow tattoo. Lending from the hair technique of the same name, the Ombre brow tattoo can also mean fading from light to dark. Which means the colour is darker and defined in the brow tail and fades to very soft and light through the front of the brow. This creates a really natural look and suits those who have a good amount of brow hair already, but just want more definition.

ombre suits all skin types but not all brow types

As a cosmetic tattoo machine is used to create the look, ALL skin types can have their brows Ombre’d. Oily skin types cannot typically hold microblading ‘hairstrokes’, as excess sebum & larger pores don't usually hold the pigment from superficial hairstrokes. So oily skinned types will LOVE the Ombre brow.

But if you don't have much brow hair to begin with? You'll prefer the powder style of eyebrow tattoo. It uses the same technique as Ombre, but it gives you full, powdery colour instead of light to dark.

I specialise in the Soft Powder brow tattoo style, which can be tailored to your unique brows. Whether you want Ombre or full colour, the Soft Powder style can accommodate.
